Carcassonne: Ark Of The Covenant

Like many other games including Monopoly, Mad Gab, Pictionary, and more, someone out there decided to make a Christian version of one of our favorite games, Carcassonne (click the 'carcassonne' link at the bottom of this post to see all of our other posts about the game). I'm not interested in buying Christian versions of games because we are Christians, but because they are good games, and in this case, that's exactly what it is.

Carcassonne variant: Ark Of The Covenant

The game is very similar in play to the original game, but because they had the benefit of time and experience, they were able to modify certain rules, and incorporate some other aspects of expansion sets into a single stand-alone game. Some reviews claimed that the Ark of the Covenant was a better game than just the basic Carcassonne.

We've played it just once, a couple of days ago, and we really enjoyed it. I'm leaning towards it being a better game on its own, but will need a few more plays (and with more people) to really tell for sure. In any case, the modifications made to the game are really smart. They remove some of the more strenuous aspects of the game, and changed the way a few tiles score to make the game a little more even between players.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to play this with our gaming friends, and if we get some photos of the board layout, I'll post them to show what the game itself looks like.

I'd like to try this version out when we get back for Christmas! :)

I really enjoyed the original Carcassonne...it was fun, and I'm sure I'd get better the more I played it!

I have never played either versions of this game before, but wouldn't mind learning.
