First Anniversary Vacation

Sunday was our first anniversary, and we decided to take a vacation over on Vancouver Island for a couple of days. We found a nice cottage on the water and spent our days relaxing and keeping busy at the same time.

The Ferry

We caught the ferry to the island on Friday and spent most of the trip on the top deck, watching for any signs of whales, or anything else interesting. Nothing was to be seen and once it got really windy, we moved indoors.

Even with the straps down, we still held onto our hats

Being that we were at a lake, and I hadn't done it in a long time, we brought along some fishing gear and tried to catch something. Unfortunately, we didn't catch anything, but had a lot of fun trying.

All smiles, but no fish

The lake

The lake we visited is called Sproat Lake. Here are a few photos we took in and around the area. Also, a picture of the cottage.

Our Anniversary

We've now been married for a year, and this is something to celebrate. Since the first one is special, we bought each other some really nice gifts.

I bought Natasha her anniversary band

Natasha bought me a TRUMP watch! Wow!

One year later, and still smiling! Thanks to our families and friends for all your support and for all the things you've done for us. We hope to spend many more years with you!

The Water Bombers

Sproat Lake is home to two water bombers that are used to fight forest fires in the area. We tried to get close but couldn't get in right where they are, and had to take some pictures from a nearby park.

Cathedral Grove

Cathedral Grove is a really neat area of a park that has some truly massive trees that you can walk around and see. We walked through most of the paths and took some pictures of us and the trees.

The two of us by a hollow tree

This tree is absolutely massive, and you can get a pretty good idea from the picture. If you're in the area, definitely check it out.

On from here

We had a great vacation and are ready to get back to work tomorrow (yay!). And on to the next year together we go. Looking forward to it!
